Oh Lihi…..

Oh Lihi…why do you have to make dresses so pretty? It makes me want to get married all over again!

So my regular readers will know my obsession with Lihi Hod and her stunning creations and I was over the moon to be sent the latest pics from her 2015 collection.

And yes she’s done it again. Dresses so beautiful that my eyes hurt and I run out of superlatives.

I’ve still not got my Internet up and running properly so here are just a few of my faves.

A little Tuesday Throwback.

So I’m currently living with the In-laws at the moment (finally got a moving date – end of April) and it seems that The Boy and I spend alot on time on the internet as have used the monthly data allowance in 10 days. Ooops.

So this means that our internet is on a go slooooooow. How irritating. It’s takes me double the amount of time to blog as all my favourite wedding sites just won’t load. Boo.

But it has meant that I can sort though our weddings pics and pick the ones we want to get printed for our new home. Tres exciting.

I love this one. It was taken from our Brighton legal ceremony – simple and sweet. Pic taken by Manon Pauffin.

FYI – that took me 5 mins to upload ONE picture. #impatient.

Anywho, I think I may have something pretty exciting to show you in my next blog. I might have some pictures winging it way over to me from the talented Lihi Hod with her new collection. As soon as I have them in my grubby hands, they’ll be up. Even if it takes me four days to upload.

Love lots Mrs “I hate slow internet” x

Costa Rica Beaut of a Wedding

So my poor old Mac is pretty crippled at the moment and is need of some defragging love so this post is going to have to be short and sweet as it’s running at that kinda slow pace where I just want to chuck it out of the window!

Spotted this absolutely gorgeous beach wedding shoot on CeciStyle couldn’t get enough of the colours! Some serious beach wedding inspiration right here to brighten up your Wednesday. JUST LOOK AT THAT OCEAN! I want to be there right now.

Boudoir Photography – to do or not to do?

Why hello there.

I’ve got a bit of a saucy one for you today. Yep, let’s talk about getting your kit off. In front of a camera. And posing in a somewhat seductive manner. Without feeling and looking like an absolute idiot.

I’m not too sure if you know what I’m talking about but Boudoir Photography has somewhat become very popular in the last couple of years and I’ve seen plenty o’ pins on good old Pinterest.  Some not all good though I must hasten to add. Essentially, Boudoir shots involve taking your clothes off, looking hot whilst having your photo taken. Why put yourself through that I hear you ask?  Well sometimes you might feel like giving yourself some self-love, or perhaps you’ve worked hard to get your body into an incredible shape and would like to document it or perhaps it makes a good wedding present for the other half.

I went for the latter.

The Boy loves confident women and I’d say I’m not shy in front of the camera (thanks to my younger years as a amateur model and Beauty pageant contestant. Yes I know. The SHAME of it!). I had shifted some pounds and was probably physically fitter than ever and was really struggling what to get the Boy as his wedding present. I wanted something special. Something that he / we could look back in 40 years and for him to remember the woman he married. Also I have a fantastic friend Manon – check her out her website here   (FYI – Manon took our incred Engagement photos here) who wanted to add to her portfolio. Bonus!

So we put our heads together in secret squirrel meetings, pinned like crazy and set a date. I was adamant that I did not want any cheesy, over the top, trying too hard sexy shots. I just wanted to look like me but hotter. Luckily Manon’s bedroom had incredible light. Double bonus.

Here are a few shots that we sort of used as inspiration:

Pretty hot right? Without being too overtly sexy we thought. So that’s what we tried to envisage. So armed with some pretty pants and make up, I gave it my best shot. I thought about getting pretty drunk beforehand but I tend to get a bit blotchy so that was a no-no. However, as Manon is close friend, getting my kit off and posing wasn’t as scary as first thought. She was amazing and put me right as ease, getting the right poses for me and the best light.

*Deep breath* So here are a few of the photos that’m happy to share.  The “Hot Hot” ones are for The Boy’s eyes only mind.

I was and am  really pleased with the final pictures. And once I had made a little black book for the Hubby to be with the chosen photos to open on the morning of the wedding, I think he was pretty pleased with his present too.

So, thoughts on Boudoir pics for you or your other half? Is it a hell yeah? Or a hmmmm not too sure?  Well this little article here from Theknot.com might answer questions. Or feel free to drop me a line!

Until next time lovelies!

PS. I asked Manon to Photoshop on a 6-pac. She said no.

Little White Dresses

Hola!

Have been crazy crazy crazy busy this last week. I’m hoping that the excessive use of the word crazy really shows you how mad it’s been!

So my week has gone like this:

  • Tried on my full practice dress which fits like a glove – so unbelievably happy with it! Had to ask Mother In Law to be to make some tiny adjustments but it’s down to a T.  Booked my train tickets to go up to the big ol’ smoke to trawl through all the fabric shops on Berwick Street in 2 weeks so she can start cracking on with the real thing. Holy moly.
  • Booked our honeymoon. One week volunteering in Tanzania and and then a few day relaxing in Zanzibar. So excited as my body is crying out for some summer sun.
  • Wrote a new blog post for the lovely Festival Brides about “The Boy’s” Dilemma in finding his suit which you can read here
  • Made the bridesmaid’s boho headpieces – they do look lovely. Also made a funky body chain for me for Ibiza. #skills
  • Cut our confetti – BY HAND. Serious blistered fingers. Not really. A few sore spots. No that’s a lie. Just got bored and stopped.
  • Panicked when I realised it’s only FOUR months until we say I do. Where the frick has the time gone?!
  • Worked out like a dog – 7 miles run this week (doesn’t sound alot but when you hate running as much as me, that’s like a marathon) and swimming and a few boxercise classes thrown in.
  • Also searched the internet high and low for a suitable dress to sign the papers in. Don’t want to spend mega bucks but want it to look nice obvs.  Came across some of these beauties:

I’m hoping that the March / April collections will throw up some beauties. Still need to find my little niece’s bridesmaid dress. And my shoes. And the Bridesmaid’s shoes. Oh and The Boy needs to find the groomsmens outfits. And their shoes. And his shoes. And have his shirt made.

We’ve got plenty of time.

Like loads of time.

Haven’t we?!

Eeeek.

Friday’s Loveliness – It’s all about the Ring.

Hola!

I’ve got rings on the brain this week as I’m a little worried that it might take me a while to find the perfect ring to fit my perfect engagement ring. The Lanes in Brighton have charming antique jewellery shops galore and that’s where we found my ring so I’m hoping a stroll down the Lanes will come up trumps once again.

One thing I need to consider is that I need to find a wedding band that not only fits with the art deco style but actually fits snugly against the engagement ring as you can see in the piccy below:

The Boy done good!

So what could work? Any of these beauties perhaps?

Aren’t they all lovely?  I love the skinny band ring encrusted with diamonds. Yes yes yes, it looks like an eternity ring but it’s ever so pretty isn’t it?

Looking forward to trying a few on – will let you know how I get on.

Have a good weekend lovelies!  Xxx

Flipagram Funsies

So I kept seeing all these beautiful videos on my Instagram – you know the ones, slideshows of pretty pics set to music, and I thought they must take ages to make and require some nifty software so there was no way little ol’ me could make them.

Then last night, the Boy thrust his phone in my face and said proudly “Look what I’ve made” and lo and behold he’s made this amazing video of our last trip to Ibiza using all his pics on his phone, bopping crazily away to “Blurred Lines.”

“How did you do that?!” I screeched. “Flipagram” he smugly replied. (If you haven’t noticed, I’m the geek of the two so he loved being the techy one. Just this one time mind.)

So straight onto Google Play (I’m on Android. Shock horror!) and downloaded said App and away we go.  This is my first video:

It’s such great little app and not only does it pretty up my page but how fab would it be it to use it for engagement shoots and wedding pics?  We never liked the idea of having a long video to watch but something that flicks though all our fav pics of the day set to music is perfect.

And the beauty is ANYONE can do it.  All you need is a smartphone and time.

You learn something new every day eh?

Let me know what you think and I’d love to see your Flipagrams. Find me and follow me on Instagram – @bridebythebeach
