A little Tuesday Throwback.

So I’m currently living with the In-laws at the moment (finally got a moving date – end of April) and it seems that The Boy and I spend alot on time on the internet as have used the monthly data allowance in 10 days. Ooops.

So this means that our internet is on a go slooooooow. How irritating. It’s takes me double the amount of time to blog as all my favourite wedding sites just won’t load. Boo.

But it has meant that I can sort though our weddings pics and pick the ones we want to get printed for our new home. Tres exciting.

I love this one. It was taken from our Brighton legal ceremony – simple and sweet. Pic taken by Manon Pauffin.

FYI – that took me 5 mins to upload ONE picture. #impatient.

Anywho, I think I may have something pretty exciting to show you in my next blog. I might have some pictures winging it way over to me from the talented Lihi Hod with her new collection. As soon as I have them in my grubby hands, they’ll be up. Even if it takes me four days to upload.

Love lots Mrs “I hate slow internet” x

My Handmade Headpieces

Hola ladies!

How’s your weekend been – busy wedding planning? I had a fab time with my beautiful niece and nephew taking them to a farm, lovely dinner with The Boy and long walks with my In-laws dog followed by a roast and salted caramel pudding – lush. (Summer diet starts tomorrow.)

Well today I’m talking about headpieces. I knew as soon as we decided on a boho wedding on the beach I wanted a glamourous headpiece to set off my veil. So I had a little look around, found some unbelievable pieces but also  saw that there were some pretty hefty price tags attached and thought to myself could I make this myself? And then it so happened that this train of thought co-incided with a hen party I went on that involved a jewellery making session. So I thought I’d give it a go!

My brother and sister in law bought me a stunning necklace for my graduation present and it was the perfect jewelled piece to turn into a headpiece. It was pretty simple, I bought a basic jewellery toolkit and some silver chain and links from ebay and just extended the chain to fit my head. Easy. Here’s a couple of pics from my wedding to show you:

The headpiece allowed me to tuck my curled hair into it to keep it off my neck during the ceremony. Just what I wanted in the Ibiza sun.

I also wanted my gorgeous bridemaids to have something similar so I spotted some pretty earrings, removed the hooks and attached the chains. I loved them and think that they went so well with their pretty dresses –

I absolutely loved making them – yes they took a little time but it was quite relaxing to get creative in the run up to the wedding. And I loved the fact that no one else in the world would be wearing anything similar.

In fact it’s giving me the bug to make more when I’ve got a little more spare time and I came across this incredible brand LITTER who makes one off headpieces, body jewellery and shoe accessories. LOVE.

Again I’m totally digging that these pieces are unique and standout – perfect accessory for the big day. Anyone else thinking of headpieces for the day?

A Bride in Capri

This wedding is just all round incredible. The dresses, the locations, the styling, the photos. INCRED.

It’s the wedding day of  Erica Pelosini and Louis Leeman. I hold up my hands, I had no idea who they were but I really want to be their friend. Come on now, who has Olivia Palermo as a guest to their wedding?! They did!

So Erica is a beautiful Italian stylist / Mens fashion design for her now Husband’s Louis footwear line  / all round hottie and this is her wedding day. Her Bridesmaids wore matching Pucci dress, she was in a one off Peter Dundas work of art and arrived on seated on a chair strapped to the back of a little Italian truck. Say what?!

You can see the full run up, wedding and after party here from The Coveteur. (You must take 5 minutes of your life to see these other pictures – I beg of thee.) Be warned, waunderlust may take over – Capri looks glorious. xxx

My Favourites…

Oh yes. All of our wedding photos are now in my grubby little hands!

And I love every single one of them.

I’m sure I’m like most Brides and I’ve flicked through them over and over again. To the point where I’m starting to get Repetitive Strain Injury in my wrist.

But I can’t help it. To work on something for 18 months and see all your hard work pay off and all your crazy ideas come together, and see the raw emotion on your husband’s face when you speak your vows, and the tears and laughs on your friends and family’s faces are something that will be etched in my heart forever but will always be so beautiful to see them again and again.

I’ve got so much I want to write about so I will be breaking it all down for you but for the moment, here are my just a few of my favourites. I hope you like them as much as I love them.

Another sneak peek….

Greetings gorgeous girls!

Well I think we are getting there with all our wedding snaps! Oh what a chore it is – having to relive these beautiful moments over and over again.

We were extremely lucky to have three fantastic photographer documenting our day: our friend Anthony of AJG PhotographyManon who took our Engagement pics and my secret Boudoir shots and then last not least our professional photographer Gabriel who’s based in Ibiza –  you can find more of his work here – www.gabivazquez.com

I PROMISE I’ll be uploading some pictures soon, I’m just in the process of sorting out our Thank you cards which is taking priority at the moment as there were so many people that our day epic.

However, here’s another of one of my favourite shots of the day, taken by the very awesome Anthony (he is very good he is).

Boudoir Photography – to do or not to do?

Why hello there.

I’ve got a bit of a saucy one for you today. Yep, let’s talk about getting your kit off. In front of a camera. And posing in a somewhat seductive manner. Without feeling and looking like an absolute idiot.

I’m not too sure if you know what I’m talking about but Boudoir Photography has somewhat become very popular in the last couple of years and I’ve seen plenty o’ pins on good old Pinterest.  Some not all good though I must hasten to add. Essentially, Boudoir shots involve taking your clothes off, looking hot whilst having your photo taken. Why put yourself through that I hear you ask?  Well sometimes you might feel like giving yourself some self-love, or perhaps you’ve worked hard to get your body into an incredible shape and would like to document it or perhaps it makes a good wedding present for the other half.

I went for the latter.

The Boy loves confident women and I’d say I’m not shy in front of the camera (thanks to my younger years as a amateur model and Beauty pageant contestant. Yes I know. The SHAME of it!). I had shifted some pounds and was probably physically fitter than ever and was really struggling what to get the Boy as his wedding present. I wanted something special. Something that he / we could look back in 40 years and for him to remember the woman he married. Also I have a fantastic friend Manon – check her out her website here   (FYI – Manon took our incred Engagement photos here) who wanted to add to her portfolio. Bonus!

So we put our heads together in secret squirrel meetings, pinned like crazy and set a date. I was adamant that I did not want any cheesy, over the top, trying too hard sexy shots. I just wanted to look like me but hotter. Luckily Manon’s bedroom had incredible light. Double bonus.

Here are a few shots that we sort of used as inspiration:

Pretty hot right? Without being too overtly sexy we thought. So that’s what we tried to envisage. So armed with some pretty pants and make up, I gave it my best shot. I thought about getting pretty drunk beforehand but I tend to get a bit blotchy so that was a no-no. However, as Manon is close friend, getting my kit off and posing wasn’t as scary as first thought. She was amazing and put me right as ease, getting the right poses for me and the best light.

*Deep breath* So here are a few of the photos that’m happy to share.  The “Hot Hot” ones are for The Boy’s eyes only mind.

I was and am  really pleased with the final pictures. And once I had made a little black book for the Hubby to be with the chosen photos to open on the morning of the wedding, I think he was pretty pleased with his present too.

So, thoughts on Boudoir pics for you or your other half? Is it a hell yeah? Or a hmmmm not too sure?  Well this little article here from Theknot.com might answer questions. Or feel free to drop me a line!

Until next time lovelies!

PS. I asked Manon to Photoshop on a 6-pac. She said no.
