I love Pinterest. No really. I absolutely love it. It’s the best thing since Ryan Gosling.
I’m seriously addicted to it and you can easily spend hours pinning beautiful things. And for the organized freaks like me, you can organize it by categories!!! It makes planning a wedding so much fun because you can take inspiration from other brides to be and then collate all those ideas into one big happy vision.
I’m planning on adding to my boards over the months and once the venue is set and we know what look / theme / vibe we want then the real fun can start. That’s when I start creating moodboards!
Found some gorgeous bridesmaids dresses and love the idea of bright pastel (oxymoron I know) colour combos. Do follow me if you fancy it.
I like to eat and can put away fried food like there’s no tomorrow and I’m one of those girls that needs a serious reason to stop stuffing doughnuts in her yap hole. Usually the fear of getting into a bikini or needing to squeeze into that slinky dress kickstarts my fitness motivation.
So for example, over the Christmas holidays I must have consumed enough calories to keep the population of a small country going. With all the party food, dinners out, sweets and not to mention bottles of wine I think I gained about half a stone and 1.5 inches around the belly. Yeeesh!
So, as our Ibiza venue recce is booked for June, I need to get that motivation up and running.
It helps that I’m a member of a Boxercise Bootcamp and they are brilliant and getting you back into fitness and toning up. I try to attend at least four classes a week which range from Boxercise Pump and Core, TRX, Kettlebells and a great stretch class. I’m also looking to complete a Triathalon in July (eeek!) to help me focus my motivation.
This is going to be an important part of my blog because I’m sure that there are ladies out there who are happy with their weight but could do with some toning? Don’t get me wrong, I love my figure but I know there are certain parts that could do with some work like my stomach and arms. I’m not aiming for stick thin (I’m lucky to be blessed with DD’s so if I did happen to get down to a size 8 it would look just ridiculous.) I think a nice, toned 10 / 12 would be perfect for me.
So join me in my quest for the perfect wedding day body. I’m going keep a track of my fitness regime, food intake, recipes and measurements so I can measure progress and hopefully share my downfalls and successes over the next year and a half. Any advice will be greatly received!
I grew up in Greater London. “The Boy” grew up by the beach in Sussex. He used to tell me how much fun him and his friends had living by the beach. All the space to run around, playing on their bikes on the promenade and the beach to keep them amused for hours on end. I on the other hand, grew up right by Heathrow Airport and was overjoyed when we got to go to our local park which consisted of a field, 2 swings, one slide and a dilapidated see-saw.
I moved in with “The Boy” soon after we came back from travelling and I quickly fell in love with the beach, the open space, the fresh air and the general culture in Brighton. We got used to waking up to the crashing waves and beauty of the ever changing sea whilst back-packing and we realized that we couldn’t ever not live by the sea.
Hence why we love the idea of a beach wedding or a wedding where the beach can be seen. We want something laid back and relaxed and where we can be ourselves because underneath it all, we are both total beach bums.
We went to Ibiza for the first time last year and totally fell in love with the island, it’s gorgeous beaches and fine sunshine. It was there, whilst recovering from the hangover from hell that we stumbled upon Cala Gracionetta beach. A tiny beach with beautiful crystal waters and a laid back vibe. Hidden at the back, nestled amongst the trees was an open air restaurant called El Chiringuito which was being set up for a wedding. It looked stunning. Chairs set up under the trees, views overlooking the water, fairy lights wrapped around the branches and bunting flapping gently in the wind. Perfect.
So when we started talking about venues and where we would like to get married, Ibiza sounded awesome. Costwise, it would be a small wedding party, 35 – 40, so realistically it could fit in our budget.
We’re looking to fly out there in June to take a look and see if it’s feasible. Fingers crossed!
First post of the blog! Saw this in the news yesterday and cried my eyes out. Has really raised the bar for any Groom to be – shame mine can’t sing.
