Oh Lihi…..

Oh Lihi…why do you have to make dresses so pretty? It makes me want to get married all over again!

So my regular readers will know my obsession with Lihi Hod and her stunning creations and I was over the moon to be sent the latest pics from her 2015 collection.

And yes she’s done it again. Dresses so beautiful that my eyes hurt and I run out of superlatives.

I’ve still not got my Internet up and running properly so here are just a few of my faves.

A little Tuesday Throwback.

So I’m currently living with the In-laws at the moment (finally got a moving date – end of April) and it seems that The Boy and I spend alot on time on the internet as have used the monthly data allowance in 10 days. Ooops.

So this means that our internet is on a go slooooooow. How irritating. It’s takes me double the amount of time to blog as all my favourite wedding sites just won’t load. Boo.

But it has meant that I can sort though our weddings pics and pick the ones we want to get printed for our new home. Tres exciting.

I love this one. It was taken from our Brighton legal ceremony – simple and sweet. Pic taken by Manon Pauffin.

FYI – that took me 5 mins to upload ONE picture. #impatient.

Anywho, I think I may have something pretty exciting to show you in my next blog. I might have some pictures winging it way over to me from the talented Lihi Hod with her new collection. As soon as I have them in my grubby hands, they’ll be up. Even if it takes me four days to upload.

Love lots Mrs “I hate slow internet” x

Friday’s Loveliness – Our First Song.

Apologies – I’ve been ill as a dog the last 2 weeks and been struggling to pass off as a human let alone be able to write.

Today I’ve wanted to write something a little more sentimental and mushy. Me and The Boy have gone through alot of change in first nine months of our marriage – new jobs, new house, a few health scares and living together as man and wife. Not that it feels any different, it feels exactly like how it should do. We know that whatever life throws at us, as long as we’re together it will all work out fine.

So today I wanted to share our first dance song. As soon as we heard this we knew it was         The One.

It’s by The Lumineers and it’s untitled but I think it’s called “Falling.” We heard it at Glastonbury and when this started, the crowds went silent. It was a beautiful moment. I just turned to Will and he knew exactly what I was going to say.

I love the lyrics – they’re just us. And when Neyla sings – goosebumps. Every time I hear this song it holds nothing but amazing memories for us.

Heart full of love.

Wedding Dress by Mariana Harwick

Marvellous Marina Harwick

I love it when I come across designers who dresses make my heart beat a little faster. I love it when their use of textures and embellishments adds to making the Bride feel the Belle of the Ball.

I think fashion designer Marina Hardwick does just that.

Oh how i’d love to try on one of her dresses – especially her Cassidy dress – the detail is divine.

And when I’ve finished walking down the aisle, I’d slip into one her ready to wear collection on the way to airport en route to the honeymoon – that Georgiana Pencil Dress is right up my street. HOT right?!

My Handmade Headpieces

Hola ladies!

How’s your weekend been – busy wedding planning? I had a fab time with my beautiful niece and nephew taking them to a farm, lovely dinner with The Boy and long walks with my In-laws dog followed by a roast and salted caramel pudding – lush. (Summer diet starts tomorrow.)

Well today I’m talking about headpieces. I knew as soon as we decided on a boho wedding on the beach I wanted a glamourous headpiece to set off my veil. So I had a little look around, found some unbelievable pieces but also  saw that there were some pretty hefty price tags attached and thought to myself could I make this myself? And then it so happened that this train of thought co-incided with a hen party I went on that involved a jewellery making session. So I thought I’d give it a go!

My brother and sister in law bought me a stunning necklace for my graduation present and it was the perfect jewelled piece to turn into a headpiece. It was pretty simple, I bought a basic jewellery toolkit and some silver chain and links from ebay and just extended the chain to fit my head. Easy. Here’s a couple of pics from my wedding to show you:

The headpiece allowed me to tuck my curled hair into it to keep it off my neck during the ceremony. Just what I wanted in the Ibiza sun.

I also wanted my gorgeous bridemaids to have something similar so I spotted some pretty earrings, removed the hooks and attached the chains. I loved them and think that they went so well with their pretty dresses –

I absolutely loved making them – yes they took a little time but it was quite relaxing to get creative in the run up to the wedding. And I loved the fact that no one else in the world would be wearing anything similar.

In fact it’s giving me the bug to make more when I’ve got a little more spare time and I came across this incredible brand LITTER who makes one off headpieces, body jewellery and shoe accessories. LOVE.

Again I’m totally digging that these pieces are unique and standout – perfect accessory for the big day. Anyone else thinking of headpieces for the day?
